A beauty dish is an essential lighting modifier for soft yet focused light in portrait or beauty photography. To ensure optimal performance, it's important to properly install your beauty dish on your strobe. This guide will walk you through the installation process step-by-step

Before installing your beauty dish, you’ll want to make sure that you have the correct mount installed for your strobe. The beauty dish comes equipped with a standard Bowens mount. If you need to swap mounts, do so before starting these steps. Click here for instructions on how to swap your mount.

Beauty Dish XL 20 Installation Steps

Step 1: Remove the Beauty Dish from the carrying case.

Step 2: Mount the extended beauty dish to your light strobe, aligning the Bowens mount (or the correct mount installed on your strobe). Pull the dish towards you until it is fully extended.

Step 3: Ensure that the beauty dish is tightly and securely fastened to the strobe. You are now ready to attach any modifiers such as dome gels, the diffusion panel, etc. and shoot!

Troubleshooting:

• Dish Not Mounting Properly: Ensure the correct mount is in place. Try gently rotating the dish to align it properly in your strobe before pulling it towards you.
• Loose Mount: If the dish feels loose, remove it and recheck the connection. Verify that the mount is secure and free of any obstructions.
