How to Swap the Base of the Reflector XLUpdated 7 months ago
The Reflector XL comes with a Bowens mount, but if you want to switch to a Profoto or Godox mount we've got you covered too. (available for purchase separately) Whether it's going to be a permanent switch, or you've got different strobes and need to switch back and forth, swapping out the base of the Reflector XL is quick and painless.
To Remove:
Grab the Reflector XL with one hand the base mount in the other
Then pull until the the base pops out
To Replace:
With one hand place the lower part of the base mount inside the bottom lip of the Reflector XL's body.
With with your other hand, reach inside through the front of the Reflector XL and stretch the body upwards.
Insert the base mount inside and then release the silicone.
Check the inside to make sure the rim of the base mount is sitting flush with the inner lip.
If it is not, simply reposition it manually as seen below. It doesn't take much. The silicone wants to go into the right position once it's mostly there. The goal is to not see any of the black base when looking inside the body of the Reflector XL, only silver.
